As part of the European Day of Languages on Tuesday 26th, several pupils took part in the European cookery contest arranged by Mrs Ives and Madame Chambonnet. The contest allowed a number of judges to sample some excellent crepes and omelettes which demonstrated the disproportionate number of talented cooks we have at Read School. Emily Crossley won the Crepe contest with her separate savoury (containing tomato and cucumber amongst other things) and sweet crepes (which boasted the flavours of cinnamon and Nutella). The crepes were beautifully presented and were the deserved winner. Noah Athraby won the Omelette competition with a wonderful creation and scored excellent marks from all of the judges. We tasted some other joyous flavours such as Charlotte Fildes’ strawberry and cheese crème crepe which was delicious. All of the judges (including myself) thoroughly enjoyed all of the crepes and omelettes on offer. A big thank you to everybody who took part as it was a very enjoyable and interesting experience.
