A Chemistry Lecture in York
‘Amazing’ was the opinion of the Sixth Form chemistry students who attended the lecture ‘Gods, Devils and Alcohol’ given by Dr Peter Wothers, Reader in Chemistry at the University of Cambridge on Wednesday evening.
The lecture was the third that science students from Read have attended, which are held regularly at St Peter’s School, York.
Dr Wothers gave a very lively and informative lecture and demonstration based on the chemical elements. Their discovery, properties and the often bizarre origins of their names was presented in the historical context of the past 3000 years.
The group are pictured with Dr Wothers after the event.
