CCF Honour for Read School contingent
2010 marks the 150th anniversary of the formation of Cadet Corps in schools and this banner was presented by Her Majesty the Queen in her capacity as Captain General of the CCF.
There are around 260 CCF contingents within the UK and a further 70 schools have expressed a wish to open a contingent.
Her Majesty is to hold a parade and reception at Buckingham Palace on 6 July 2010 to celebrate this anniversary and Read School cadets have been selected to attend.
The banner is normally kept at the Cadet Training Centre, Frimley Park but is travelling throughout the UK in the anniversary year. Read School CCF is the first school in the north of England to display it.
