51 shoeboxes filled!
Read School pupils this week presented 51 filled shoeboxes to Goole Rotary Club president Graham Hawksworth as part of their Shoebox Appeal. The Appeal sends boxes of goods as gifts to children in under-privileged countries and these are often the only gifts these children receive. Small gifts such as a pair of gloves, a toothbrush or a small toy make all the difference to them.
Graham Hawksworth said ‘The children are to be commended for their efforts. The 51 boxes supplied by Read School will more than double the number of boxes that Goole Rotary is normally able to send in a whole year’.
