Netball: England v Australia

The Read contingent, all cheery outside Wembley Stadium, despite an Australia win

On 5th February 33 pupils, parents and teachers headed to the SSE Arena in Wembley to see the Netball Quad Series. The first game was a nail-biter between England and Australia coming down to the final seconds it was neck and neck, but unfortunately England just missed out by one goal. The interval enabled the girls to do a little bit of shopping for netballs and various other pieces of merchandise. After some refreshments our girls were fuelled up and ready to cheer on the next game between South Africa and New Zealand. This was not as closely fought but still great to watch. Some of the girls managed to meet the England players and get some autographs before heading back up North. It was an enjoyable day and many of the girls have asked when the next one will be. It was a pleasure to be able to have the company of such fantastic pupils.

A big thank you to Mrs Prosser for organising the trip and to all of you parents who came along to help support!
