It was a cold misty morning as the Read boys stepped nervously onto the pitch, knowing there was going to be a tough game ahead.

As the game kicked off Read managed to hold strong for the first couple of minutes, Eddie Liddle and Ethan Kaye not letting any balls into the box creating a solid defence and with Theo Chandler creating some skilful through balls to Tom Scholefield who managed to get two shots on target.

Despite all of our efforts the skilful opposition managed to score 3 goals in this half but man-of -the match Edward Woodall saved 5 of their attempts.

In the second half Read started on a high with Ben Abrams making some probing runs into enemy territory which were unfortunately all cut off before the shot could be executed. Then the opposition managed to elicit further goals from great passing and communication despite Woody’s amazing saves on 6 of their attempts.

Overall I think we did the best we could have done under the circumstances: though there is room for improvement!
