The girls were raring to go today and keen to get the match started against Pocklington. The first quarter was tough and we went four goals down. However the girls were determined to maintain this season’s winning streak. Alex Collinson and Katie Watson worked hard to score some goals with feeds from Amy Lister and Annie Henry. There was some great linking play down the court from the defenders of Lucy Barrick, Grace Handforth, Holly Langdale and Anya McAvoy. However, Pocklington were a strong team and we were always slightly behind until the last quarter when we went two goals ahead. Albeit, we struggled to hold them off and in the closing minutes they caught up to 25-25 and with slight panic at times, the opposition took advantage resulting in a 26-28 defeat. Disappointing, but more importantly a learning experience.
