Old Draxonian and former Head Boy, Robbie Oliver, now in his third year of a four year MPhys degree course at Corpus Christi College, Oxford, has had a very busy time recently.
Having been awarded an Exhibition Scholarship, based on his consistently high academic performance, he has also been very involved in both college and University rugby.
On 12 March, Robbie was part of the Oxford University Whippets XV who became the Oxfordshire Shield champions, for the first time in the team’s history, and he scored a try in the final. He has also won two caps for the prestigious Oxford Blues first XV, when he played in the matches against the British Army and famous Welsh team, The Crawshays. His rugby journey now takes Robbie on tour to Edinburgh next week with the University Greyhounds XV.
In recognition of these sporting achievements, Robbie was inducted into the ‘Corpus Christi Sporting Legends’, a club of which he has recently been elected President!
It’s good to see Robbie is relishing his successes and making the most of his time in Oxford. Another excellent ex-Read pupil, whose continuing story is an inspiration to us all.
