Equestrian Teams

Pupils from Year 4 through to Year 13 may join the Junior & Senior Equestrian teams at Read School.  Typically pupils on the equestrian teams own their own horse or pony and compete for the school at Dressage, Show Jumping and Eventing, proudly wearing Read School equestrian uniform. The school registers the competitors with the NSEA, the BS and BE for school competitions.

A Summer Club programme is open to all pupils regardless of experience and the emphasis is on developing their potential and enjoying working with horses and ponies.  Club participants have riding lessons and learn about stable management at Oxymardyke Equestrian Centre where all instructors are British Horse Society qualified. Pupils do not need to own their own horse or pony to join the summer club programme.  Riding is an all-round experience much valued and enjoyed by all those in the Equestrian Club.

We have had a handful of very talented riders at school, including a current pupil, who is regularly enjoying national success for GB.
