The event was attended by pupils aged 4-18 and featured a broad spectrum of companies and professions. The fair provided every student the opportunity to gain an insight into a vast range of sectors and career pathways.

Business and Enterprise is rapidly becoming one of the school's many pillars of excellence. Our annual Careers Fair is one of many examples of how Read School continuously strives to nurture and inspire every student that comes through our doors, helping them to be to embrace their own unique skills, talents, and aspirations. Additionally, the fair further cements our links with parents, alumni, and the local business community, who are always so generous with their time and expertise and are pivotal to the success of our school within these fields.

The Careers Fair, which was held during National Careers Week, is just one event in a continual programme of career guidance.  Read School offers its students a plethora of opportunities to explore potential careers through initiatives such as the ongoing Lunch and Learn business programme.

Head Teacher, Ruth Ainley commented:

"It is tremendously exciting to see so many seeds planted. The pupils of today are the workforce of tomorrow, and who knows how many different careers they may have in a lifetime. We are tremendously grateful to our parents and the local business community for so generously sharing their time and experience."

Alongside all our exhibitors, special thanks go to Harrison Fairhurst, Year 12, who hosted the event as part of his EPQ. Harrison's professionalism and leadership skills received extensive praise amongst the exhibitors attending the event.  Harrison's incredibly successful management of this project offers another excellent example of how Read School produces competent, dedicated, and passionate young people, who are well-equipped to accomplish their career goals from an early age.

Harrison was assisted by fellow Year 12, Sophie Saynor, who ensured every exhibitor received a warm welcome upon arrival. Both students performed their roles exceptionally and were a credit to the school.
